HOW WE GOT THE BIBLE

Have you ever wanted to witness to someone or share God's word but didn't? Have you been afraid to talk about the Bible? Have you stopped yourself from sharing because you thought you didn't know enough to answer questions? Does the world want you to think you can't share God's word because it's too complicated? Have you wanted to point out errors to those attacking Scripture but didn't because you might not be able to explain it?

Relax, you are not alone. After all the Bible was written over a period of 1,600 years. That fear and intrepidation stops most Christians from being an effective witness or witnessing at all. They do not engage in spiritual conversations about Scripture or feel that they can back up what they know to be true through faith and love with facts. This is not the way it is supposed to be and it is a tool the enemy uses to keep you silent.

1 Peter 3:14-15: "...Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened. ¹⁵ But in

your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to

everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do

this with gentleness and respect.

Join me on Wednesday nights begining May 16th, for a faith building journey through the Bible. We will take a textual and critical look at the Bible and how it came to be. The study will take you from the very beginings of Scriptural writings through the various translations, building blocks of the Bible, history of how the word was preserved and scribed, versions, archealogy, manuscripts, important persons and discoveries,canon and modern Bibles.

You already knew God's word was inerrant and revealed but now you will understand just how incredibly sound your modern text is and how amazingly close it is to the original autographs. At the end of this study you will be armed with the knoweldge you need to conquer the fear of Scriptural or theological discussions. You will want to share your knowledge of the Bible and be able to answer questions, back up your faith, but most importantly "....with gentleness and respect." you can help those caught in a lost world of lies and myths to come to know the truth in God's revealed word.
