Have you ever tried to find a Bible verse and not been able to find it? In the "Old" days you had to use a concordance to find a verse. Today there are Bible programs that will allow you to do a search for a Bible verse or Topic in a few seconds that would have taken hours previously.

I have tried out many different versions and brands of Bible software, but have generally found myself using two the most: Logos (now called Libronix), and Bibleworks. Each has a different focus.

Libronix:

Libronix (it used to be called Logos) is a true Bible Study / Library software. Like all good Bible software you can study different Bible versions. Logos Bible SoftwareBut you also have the ability to buy and integrate with you Logos library literally thousands of different Christian commentaries, dictionaries, and almost every thing else you might find helpful to your Bible study.

There are a three things that I believe make Libronix stand out above some of the other Bible Software packages:

  1. Free Upgrades to the main software. Every other Bible software requires the user to pay for upgrades. This helps to ensure that your e-books don't become outdated.
  2. Depth and Amount of Possible resources: There are thousands of books that can be added to your library. You don't have to buy a huge library of books at one time: you can add to your library each year!
  3. Features: Libronix is very innovative with new features and "add-ins" that can perform complicated research easily and quickly.

Bibleworks

Bibleworks is for those who just want to study the Bible without using a lot of other texts like commentaries. Bibleworks LogsMany people do not want to learn Biblical Greek or Hebrew. Bibleworks makes it easier for non-experts to develop an understanding of the Biblical languages (the morphology of the varies words is already provided...). It also includes some good Lexicons (greek and hebrew dictionaires).

Bibleworks is very fast: typical searches of the whole Bible generally take only a second or two. If in-depth study of the Biblical Text is what you like, Bibleworks is great. As a side note, I have never had it "Crash" in the 4+ years I have used it: very stable!
